Adrian Turns Nine

Last week we got to celebrate another grandchild birthday!

 

 This time it was for nine year old Adrian. We, again, took the birthday boy (along with his sister, Emma) to the Window Garden for lunch.

 We had a fun time eating great food, seeing the beautiful view, and just enjoying the day.

Preparing For Disney World

 

Next week at this time we will be in Florida at Disney World. We are not taking this vacation alone, however.  We are taking all the kids and grandkids with us.  There will be 21 of us! We are getting so excited!

There is so much to do to get ready for a big trip like this.  After trying to arrange it ourselves, we decided to go to a professional and hired a travel agency to do it for us. Boy, are we ever glad we did that! We started several months ago and the agent has it all set up. We will be flying out of Indy, landing in Florida, taking a Disney shuttle right to our hotel. Our bags will be waiting for us when we check into our room!

We will be staying at the All Star Music Resort right at Disney. Each family has their own room. The hotel itself looks amazing with two pools, a game room and its own restaurant.

I have never been to Disney World before, so I purchased a book: Unofficial Guide, Walt Disney World With Kids 2013,   I have been reading that to get tips for how to best see Disney.  We will have grandchildren ranging from 10 months to 17 years. The book explained so many things. I now know about the FastPass and what attractions you can see at the last minute. It is a great book.

Our method of transportation to the parks, is a Disney bus. It travels from the hotels to the parks. So, all we need to do is go to the designated spot, get on the bus and hit the park we want!

We have our packets from the agent with all our information in it. We have been watching the weather to checkout what to bring for clothes (HOT)! We have been training to get ready to walk and walk and walk. I have my camera ready to go. Dave is all set up with his favorite Dave-sitter! Now just for those last minute things you have to do to get ready for any vacation!

Audrey Turns Five

On Saturday, we had a party celebrating Audrey's fifth birthday.  We did the normal things like have cake, open presents and open cards. But this birthday had something extra special in it.

This party had a visit from Mark's Ark. There were so many different animals.  There were some really scary things there, too. Everyone got to pet them, hold them or wear them. But, the birthday girl got to pick which animals got to be shared. She also was the only one who got to ride the tortoise.

No matter what the animal was, Audrey was very brave and held them. Even if it was a centipede or huge snake.
