We wound our way up the volcano on switchback roads. I'm not a fan of this type of driving, but I loved to stop and see the view. Being above the clouds was remarkable.
The trip took us all morning, but was worth the time. Pictures just don't do this place justice, but so glad we have them.
I think you can get an idea of how majestic these rocks were.
In the distance you can see one of the many small water falls that eventually go into the river that cuts through the rock and made this beautiful place. There were a few other things we saw at the many stops on the way up to the top. I will share a few of those in my blog tomorrow!
Wowweeee! Those are some beautiful sights!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I were there last summer and fell in love with Kaua'i! The entire island was beautiful. Glad that you got to enjoy some beauty!
ReplyDeleteThe canyon is what I remember most about Kaua'i. They were incredible! But I'm kind of chicken when it comes to driving those roads.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you said that about being chicken when driving. That was ME!!! I would glance out the window and then stare at the road. It actually made me sick to my stomach and light headed. Nice to know I am not alone!
DeleteBeautiful! I'd be nervous too... I'm not a fan of heights! But it would be worth it to see all that in person.
