I know they said it would come. I know the weather forecasters promised it. I know I saw it on the weather maps. BUT, I was really hoping for once they would be wrong! But, they weren't!
I woke up this morning to my alarm blinking the time at me. It said it was 12:10, but it was really 8:10. Sometime in the night the power had gone off. I turned on the t.v. in the bedroom to just see what they were saying. It snapped, popped and then went black. I knew then we were in trouble! The rest of the televisions in the house work and now even that one does.
My husband took Dave, our dog, out for his morning duties. They came back covered with snow. There are drifts and more blowing snow. It is three hours later and it is still coming down hard. All schools are closed. Our book club has rescheduled. I'm glad my sister made the trip here to visit for a few hours yesterday. We changed the date when we saw the forecast.
Now it's time again to huddle down, read my T. Davis Bunn book and watch the news. It is March and you never know what you will get in March if you live in Indiana. They are promising spring will come...sometime!
I just wrote about this too. More snow. Unbelievable. I like the repetition in the beginning. Just like the snow. Repeating. That the Midwest for ya!
ReplyDeleteJust think: you could be giving round one of ISTEP right now... Oh, wait... We are!
ReplyDeleteSnow, I love it. Before long, we will be complaining about how hot and humid it is.
ReplyDeleteI'm in Illinois and I know it hasn't been as bad as Indiana, but I was really hoping the forecasts were wrong too!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you said that about Indiana. I thought only we said that in MI. Watching blowing snow....and reading!
ReplyDeleteI wrote a letter to the weatherman yesterday, but it didn't work. We didn't get too much snow here in Indy, no school closures...but it sure is getting cold again.
