Slice of Life Day Twenty-Eight: What a Wonderful World

POETRY FRIDAY

I see trees of green.....red roses too
I see em bloom.....for me and for you
And I think to myself....what a wonderful world.

I love this song. It gives me hope.
       Spring has to be coming!

I see skies of blue.....clouds of white
Bright blessed days......dark sacred nights
And I think to myself....what a wonderful world.

Thinking of our trip coming in just a few days
The warm weather and blue, sunny skies

The colors of a rainbow....so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces ...of people going by
I see friends shaking hands....sayin how do you do
They're really sayin....I love you.

      Friends mean so much
So fortunate to have all kinds
     From all over the world!

I hear babies cry.....I watch them grow
They'll learn much more....than I'll ever know
And I think to myself...what a wonderful world.

I think of my grand children
And as I watch them grow
I just marvel at all they'll know.

And I think to myself.....what a wonderful world.
And I think to myself.....what a wonderful world.

  2. Enjoy your break/vacation! You deserve it. Even though ours has turned into a long Easter weekend because of the snow, I am still looking forward to it. Perhaps even more. It won't get me (or my students) out of rhythm!

  3. Fun format! It's interesting to get an inside look at what the words of that song mean for you. It would be interesting to compare what others think when they hear the words. I really like this.

  5. I love this! I think I will try something similar with my kiddos in poetry workshop--maybe with the Beatles "Imagine"...or maybe it could be a springy song of some sort! ha!
